Bradford College Students’ Union was started originally by students in 1901 and founded permanently in 1903.
We believe we’re the oldest FE College Union in the UK. What the Students’ Union does has changed a lot over 116 years – from reading rooms and promoting societies, to running a small empire of bars and shops, and now supporting activities, advice, and representation.
 

In 1957 the College and what would become the University of Bradford split. We share the first 60 years of history with our comrades at the University of Bradford Union, and the University Library holds the Technical College Union archives.

Lead officers of the Union
 

The 1st officer is usually the President but has previously been called a Chairman or a General Secretary.

The 2nd officer is usually the Education and Welfare Vice or Deputy President.

The 3rd officer is usually the Secretary, Facilities or F.E. officer.

The 4th officer is either the Treasurer, H.E. officer or another Deputy President.
