I want to make sure that every student thoughts, feelings are heard. I would like to represent students as I have had the role of being a student representative for 2 years and this has allowed me to support my felow classmates as it gives me an opportunity to listen to my classmates express any concerns or feedback they may have My big plans are: By voting for me , this will allow me to showcase my ability’s as I want our students to feel protected and have access to resources that allow them to thrive in future life but also for students to feel supported with every step of the way |
Mark Grayson Candidate for Students’ Union President Let's make Bradford College outstanding again. |
|
My manifesto is strongly based on the last Ofsted report, a report that the college celebrated although being somewhat underwhelming. A good rating may seem satisfactory however with Bradford College being one of the biggest education and training providers in the region based among six buildings. I have broken down the report into seven key improvement areas I am keen to tackle to help upgrade the college to an outstanding rating. 1. Insufficient re-investment in resources into current courses while having a greater focusing on future projects as seen with the planned demolish the Junction Mills building to rebuild a purpose-built Future Technologies Centre. |
Finlay Lambert Candidate for Equality Diversity and Inclusion Officer Diversity is fact but inclusion is a choice we make every day. |

1. My big plans and ideas are to be able to make sure people from different backgrounds don’t feel like they don’t belong inside of college I want to be sure they are welcomed with guidance and support from the amazing teams within college. 2. The reason why I want to represent students is because I feel like every student has the right to learn within college 3. If I were to be elected, I would put my full 110% into making sure everyone has a say and place without delay on the Bradford College campuses. 4. Events such as LGBTQ and women’s day and many other events I would like to be promoted more so people from the opposite community can learn more about the other one or just people in general. For example, on women’s day there could be a fundraiser to support charities like Housing for Women. 5. Communities such as the LGBTQ+, BAME and students with disabilities like autism and ADHD and many others feel welcomed and that they belong here for example a great idea for students in wheelchairs would be to implement more ramps onto campuses so entrances would be more accessible for them. 6. Another example I would like to add is a less crowded lift this could really benefit them because some students may have anxiety and would want more space to be calm. An example for the LGBTQ community within college would be to have more clubs being active within college. |
Salah Uddin Candidate for Equality Diversity and Inclusion Officer Let’s Celebrate Our Differences Through Unity in One Community |
|
As a dedicated student studying Access to, HE Business and Marketing Level 3 and working as an approved driving instructor, I'm committed to fostering an environment of equality, diversity, and inclusion for all members of our college community. Having come to the UK as a refugee under the UN Gateway Protection Programme in 2010, I understand first-hand the challenges that individuals from diverse backgrounds face. I promise to make sure that all students feel welcome and included, stand up for the rights of marginalised communities, work with student groups to organise events and initiatives that celebrate diversity, and work closely with college administration to develop policies prioritising diversity and inclusion. Our differences make us stronger, and if we embrace them, we can make college a place where every student feels valued, accepted, and supported. |
Mohammed Awais Candidate for Education & Welfare Officer for Further Education Support Equals Success |

Not enough people are coming into college and talking to students. There needs to be people coming from various industries and showing students how the real world is. Courses such as Creative Media Production should get in contact with people such as the BBC and invite someone in and talk about their experience. Students need to be given the opportunity to meet and network with people in the field or industry they are interested in. The college needs to provide opportunities for students to visit places such as the Google HQ or Apple HQ for Media Students. Emergency Service centres for students studying to become First Responders. Pharmacies for students studying to become pharmacists. If I am elected, I will make this one of my responsibilities to get students into the world and experience first-hand what it is like to be in the field of what they desire. This will provide a high-quality experience for all students Students don’t get the attention they require, and by that, I mean they need 1-2-1 regular mentoring from tutors to make sure their health and wellbeing is okay, to make sure that if they need someone to talk to, that the college is here for them. Too many students are afraid of reaching out for help when it is needed, I am here to break that barrier and make it easier for students to reach out and talk to someone. When I am elected, I will make sure all students will have someone to talk to on a regular basis. |
Adam Faisal Candidate for Education & Welfare Officer for Higher Education Your Education, your Voice |
|
I am driven to transform our college into a harmonious and vibrant community. My exceptional interpersonal skills, fuelled by an enthusiastic personality and a can-do attitude, position me as the catalyst needed to make a positive impact at Bradford College. It is my aspiration to be your your dedicated Education & Welfare Officer. My dedication is firm conviction in the significance of magnifying the voices of students. Recognizing the wealth of ideas and opinions within our student body, I am determined to take meaningful action to address their concerns. I propose the creation of a secure, non-judgmental space through regular meetings. These sessions will not only provide higher education students with the platform to express their opinions but also serve as a cornerstone for fostering innovative ideas and building cohesion among diverse course cohorts. My mission is to be a representative for the students. Drawing from my first hand experience with the inequities in the education system, I echo Malcolm X's sentiment that "Education is the passport to your future." In light of this, I am committed to tirelessly striving for improved resources and expanded opportunities, paving the way for students to flourish and secure their passports to a brighter future. |
