Students’ Union Elections 2025
Nominations for the new Students’ Union Officers is now open and we would like to encourage all students to get involved. It’s a fantastic opportunity for any student to become a student officer and it will boost your employability skills and opportunities. Nominations close on Friday 10th March at midday.
There are four different types of paid student officer roles available:
•• Students’ Union President - Full Time
•• Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Officer - Part Time (usually one day per week)
•• Education & Welfare Officer for Further Education (FE Students Only) – Part Time (usually one day per week)
•• Education & Welfare Officer for Higher Education (HE Students Only) – Part Time (usually one day per week)
Nomination process
The Students’ Union will help all candidates to prepare for campaigning which will open on 3rd March and close on 17th March. Online Voting will then open on 19th March and close on 24th March, with winners announced on Tuesday 25th March.
Elections Timeline
•• 6th January 2025 - Online nominations open
•• 14th January 2025 - Nominations close at midday
•• 17th-28th February 2025 - Candidate briefings
•• 3rd-17th March 2025 - Candidate campaigning
•• 27th-29th March 2025 - Online voting
•• 19th-24th March 2025 - Winners announced!

•• Being an officer will give you an opportunity to develop skills, gain new experiences and have access to a variety of training opportunities.
•• As an officer of the Students Union, you will have an access to NUS (National Students Union) support and an opportunity to get involved in a series of events and activities including the annual NUS conference where you get to meet other officers from around the U.K.
