The Students' Union is searching for 3 talented students of the college to support the development of crucial work over the next year.

 

Opportunity 1:Students' Union Promotions and publicity worker

Part Time Student opportunity

approximately 13 hrs per week, term time only (9 months; October – June)

Hourly rate:        £12.50 per hr

The SU is offering a part time staff role for a student enrolled for the academic year 2018/19 with the remit of leading the development of the Union’s profile among the student community.  We are seeking someone who can write in an engaging and relevant style who can convey the fantastic services and opportunities offered by the Students' Union to our diverse membership by way of regular e-mails, articles for the website and keeping our socail medai channels full of exciting news.  If you have prior experience of promotion through social media this is welcomed although this could be a chance for the right student to launch a career in promotional writing.

Duties / responsibilities

  1. Lead on the drafting.of content for multi-channel media.
  2. Liaise with student officers and permanent staff to promote the diverse range of services to Bradford College students.
  3. Lead on the development of www.bcsu.me (our website).
  4. Responsible for content being regularly shared via the Students' Union's facebook and twitter feeds.
  5. Any other reasonable duties as directed by the General Manager.

A commitment to the development of a vibrant community at Bradford College

 

Attention to detail and excellent command of written English

 

 

Prior experience of communications / journalism / promotional activity

 

Opportunity 2: Further Education Representation Project Development Worker

 

Part Time Student opportunity

Approximately 13 hrs per week, term time only (9 months; October – June)

Hourly rate:        £12.50 per hr

The SU is offering a part time staff role for students enrolled for the academic year 2017/18 with the remit of leading the development of the profile, effectiveness and impact of the student representation system at Bradford College.  This role will work closely with permanent staff, elected officers and student representatives to lead on the enhancement of performance of course representatives and other reps throughout the college system.

Responsibilities and duties

  1. Chair meetings of representatives
  2. Support the delivery of induction and further skills training for course representatives
  3. Promote the function of Representatives
  4. Lead on opportunities to celebrate success achieved by representatives at all levels within college.
  5. Research, collate and appropriately share information of trends within the Further education departments that impact on students.
  6. Support reps ahead of formal college meetings and follow-up after those meetings.
  7. Participate in College induction sessions & other welcome events
  8. In conjunction with the HE Representation Project Development Worker, develop an effective system of representation for Apprentices.
  9. Any other reasonable duties as directed by the General Manager.
