LGBT History Month, Bradford College

Bradford College Diversity Plus department will be displaying an exhibition in the David Hockney Building foyer during LGBT month (February), that highlights issues Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual & Transgender people face around the world. Some facing imprisonment and death just for being who they are. If you can’t attend any of the of the events listed below, please pop down and take a look at the exhibition.

Thursday 1st February – Transgender Awareness Session

 

Venue: Michele Sutton Lecture Theatre

Time: 1.30pm – 2.30pm

Trans awareness training by Finn Thorbrian from Equity Partnership to help to raise the visibility of transgender people, and address the issues these communities face. Beautiful Thing tells the story of two teenage boys, neighbours in a London high-rise housing project, who gradually become aware that they are homosexual.

Milk is a 2008 American biographical film based on the life of gay rights activist and politician Harvey Milk, who was the first openly gay person to be elected to public office in California, as a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
