Are your studies being affected by issues you have no control of, and you have not performed as well as you could in your assessments? Or, have you got issues that you have no control of that are preventing you from submitting an assessment on time or attending an examination?
If the answer to any of the above is yes, you may have extenuating/mitigating circumstances.
It is important that you discuss your situation with an appropriate member of staff from your department, or, the Students' Union Adviser can discuss your circumstances with you in confidence. We can also help you start to put a statement together and give advice on any supporting evidence that may help, and we can give general support to help you through the process.
Remember any application for mitigating circumstances you make has to be approved and may not be granted.
If any of the above applies to you and you would like further advice/support, come to the Advice Service drop-ins (times above)
Or contact Kath Denison, Student Adviser. Tel: (01274) 433007 or Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
